Welcome to Geophysical Engineering of ITB

Welcome to Geophysical Engineering programs at Faculty of Mining and Petroleum Engineering, Institut Teknologi Bandung.
These Geophysical Engineering programs consist of Bachelor, Master, and Doctoral programs. The Bachelor program is a 4 year program while the Master program is a 2 year program. Depending on students background and research topics, the doctoral program could be completed in 3-5 years.
These Geophysical Engineering programs are supported mainly by 29 faculty members that are divided into three research groups namely Applied and Exploration Geophysics Research Group, Global Geophysics Research Group, and Exploration and Engineering Seismology Research Group. Except for the three youngest faculty members who are finishing up their doctoral programs, the remaining faculty members are PhD graduates from Institut Teknologi Bandung and other leading universities in Japan, Germany, Australia, The Netherlands, France, and Canada.
Faculty members and students are actively involved in various research fields ranging from study of the Earth’s deep interior, exploration geophysics to environmental studies. Some of the research works are being conducted with national and international collaborative partners that include BMKG (the Indonesian Agency for Meteorology, Climatology, and Geophysics), Ministry of Public Works, University of Savoy - Chambery, Geoscience Australia, Australian National University, Kyoto University, Brown University, Nanyang Technological University, geothermal companies (Star Energy), and oil and gas companies (PERTAMINA, Vico, and Chevron).
